August 2015 - EPA Community Meeting

On August 27th 2015, the EPA held a meeting at the Mercy Wellness Health Center to update members of the Eastwick community about the cleanup process at the Clearview Landfill. Josh Barber, EPA Remedial Project Manager, presented to the community about the superfund process and upcoming testing activities near the landfill.

Members of the ELDCA CAG Leadership Team, Earl Wilson and Leo Brundage, encouraged community members to become involved with the CAG by attending meetings and joining the CAG working groups.

Dr. Marilyn Howarth, Director of the Community Outreach and Engagement Core at the CEET at the University of Pennsylvania, and co-Chair of the Health, Safety and Communications working group of the CAG presented on adverse health outcomes in the Eastwick community, as compared to other communities in Philadelphia. Janelle Bronaugh, MPH student at Temple University presented on asthma rates in the Eastwick community, as compared to other communities in Philadelphia.
